Nail Art Video Tutorial – Picnic Nails

As the days are getting warmer, the idea of dining out is simply too tempting. Picnics, barbecues, you name it, there’s no better way to enjoy the company of your friends and family while soaking up the sunshine. For that occasion I prepared a tutorial to make sure your nails are on point for your next barbecue! Let’s have a look.

  • Sheer and opaque white nail polishes (Maybelline Winter Baby and Barry M Cotton)
  • Jelly red nail polish (Essence Bubble Gum)
  • Sheer yellow nail polish (Danglefoot Nail Polish- I have Nothing to Wear)
  • Pink nail polish (OPI Elephantastic Pink)
  • Black nail polish
  • Striping brush
  • Detail brush
  • Dotting tool
  • Top coat

Apply two layers of Maybelline Winter Baby and wait for it to dry. Using a striping brush and a jelly red polish draw a checkered design on you nails. With a detail brush and a pink polish fill in the points where all lines meet. Using a black shade draw two flowers on you accent nail. Apply the white polish onto the flowers (leaving black borders) then colour in with the yellow shade. Add two middles with a dotting tool. Seal your design with two layers of top coat.

This is really cute, looks exactly like gingham! The effect is spot on. I love the colours too, I can see it working lovely with a pale blue too, or maybe even yellow. The flowers don’t add much more for me, I like the fabric effect just on it’s own.
